Frankincense - like many other oils - has an enormous range of uses.
From skincare to mind care to soul care - frankincense is a pharmacy, a psychologist and a prayer partner captured in a bottle.
Frankincense for the body
The respiratory system:
Frankincense in your diffuser can help with asthma, bronchitis, and catarrhal infections (infections causing a lot of mucus).
Davis as quoted by Battaglia, says that frankincense helps us to breathe more slowly and deeply - ideal for people who get asthma due to tension.
The skin
Frankincense oil can be used very successfully with Super Aloe Gel to improve pigmentation (dark spots). Put the usual amount of Super Aloe Gel in your hand and add 1 drop of frankincense to it. Frankincense is specifically recommended for mature skin and very dry skin. Use continuously for a few months.
Frankincense promotes the formation of wound tissue. This is the skin tissue that forms to repair damaged skin. Both Super Aloe Gel and Frankincense support the formation of collagen - the component that keeps your skin firm.
The oil promotes the growth of new skin, prevents the degeneration of tissue and promotes the healing of wounds.
It is used successfully, especially with Super Aloe Gel, for dry mature skin, scars, wounds and wrinkles.
Frankincense for the mind
Frankincense improves anxiety, nervous tension, and stress-related conditions.
Stress due to repressed and accumulated emotions is usually accompanied by irritation, restlessness and insomnia.
Use 3-5 drops of frankincense in your diffuser to stabilize emotions.
Frankincense for spiritual practices
Frankincense in your diffuser where you pray and contemplate your life, helps you to calm down, quiet overactive thoughts, and let go of old experiences and emotions that hinder your growth.
Frankincense Oil Personality Profile
People who intuitively like frankincense often exude the impression of secrecy and mystery. They show maturity, confidence and efficiency.
Although they are not necessarily religious in the traditional sense of the word, they often have a deep love for God.
They are usually good communicators and are warm, friendly and loving. Frankincense fans are also sensitive to the atmosphere and attitudes between people and in spaces such as homes and rooms.
General questions:
1. Can I use Frankincense neat on my skin?
Yes, it is very safe. But remember our previous article where we pointed out that it takes 1kg of resin (glue) to obtain 45ml of oil. The oil is therefore very concentrated.
2. How much should I use?
Frankincense trees are under a lot of pressure wherever they occur and in some areas the over-exploitation of trees can cause them to die out.
Help these trees survive by using one drop in Super Aloe Gel instead, or 2 drops with a carrier oil
Diffusers: 3 – 5 drops
Super Aloe Gel: 1 drop
Carrier oil: 2 – 3 drops per 10ml of oil
